Protection is really key to what rock climbing is all about. Think about it ... what's the point if you can't rely on your pro? All the ropes, biners and belay devices in the world don't much matter if you can't protect the route you're climbing.
So, it's important to get it right. Modern rock protection has to be based on solid, functional designs with features that make sense and are easy to use.
